Wrexham & Shropshire started operating a new, high quality passenger rail service from Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Telford and Tame Bridge Parkway to London Marylebone in April 2008.

The company operates five trains a day (Mondays to Fridays), four on Saturdays and three on Sundays. More services may be added in the future.

Trains are sleek and modern, with on-board catering, first and standard class accommodation, and staff who take care of passengers throughout their journeys.

Fares are good value, and tickets are available from all National Rail outlets, as well as online.

The business is on target to deliver £4m of sales in its first year and its seven year business plan looks secure.

Renaissance Trains Shareholders own 36% of the shares in Wrexham & Shropshire. Deutsche Bahn acquired 50% of the company in early 2008, with Laing Rail retaining 14% as an investment opportunity.
